C is for Cherry Moose Tracks

http://www.pattywysong.com/2013/07/a-to-z-meme.html

This is the third week of the A to Z blog meme. This weeks' blog hop is sponsored by the letter "C". Click on the link below the photo on the left to read more about the meme.

Yes, I know that I'm supposed to be working on loosing these last few pounds that I've been fighting, but I crave this wonderful flavor of ice cream!

For the purpose of the blog this week,

I needed  to purchase the carton of

Cherry Moose Tracks  so that I could  demonstrate  what it looks like. :)

Stater Bros is a grocery store  chain in our area, and their brand of this frozen  dairy dessert is rather addictive.

The soft pink cloud of creamy delight is laced with chunks of fudge, and scattered  miniature chocolate covered cherry cups

The chocolate  just melts in the mouth and the maraschino cherry flavored ice cream blends
like taking a bite of ooey gooey chocolate covered cherries.

I eat  more ice cream  than I should. Well, actually, I should not even buy it.
 But I did.
But only because I wanted to write on it for this week's "C" blog- right?

What's your favorite ice cream?

  1. Okay - now I've got the old Stater Brothers' jingle running through my head. But that's okay. ;)

That looks good - and I THOUGHT I heard that food purchased for the sake of blog posts has NO calories. Don't quote me, though LOL.

Baskin Robbins fudge brownie was my favorite growing up. Anything with chocolate is good for me. Especially if there's a touch of peanut butter with it - or maybe mint.

    1. I don't recall that jingle- so sorry about the earworm. I like your idea of non caloric foods for blog posts! :)Chocolate and peanut butter- yummy! Wait till my "R" post...

  2. That looks delicious and I don't even like cherries! I noticed you didn't post an "after" picture of the bowl? I make a homemade s'mores ice cream (chocolate ice cream, graham cracker crumbs, marshmallow ribbon) that is sent straight from heaven!

  3. I've died and gone to heaven! Is there anything better than cherries and chocolate?!

    1. Well, peanut butter and chocolate is pretty good! Chocolate and most anything, for that matter!

  4. Chocolate with caramel swirl (can't remember the official name). I might TRY the cherry, but I'm radically opposed to cherry flavored things (think cough syrup and cough drops), but I do like maraschino cherries, and those fresh from a tree.

  5. Oh that sounds delicious! I can understand your offense to cherry flavor-it has been abused for a long time.

  8. Rocky Road is my favorite and I made myself walk away from it in the grocery store tonight.

I've enjoyed Cherry Moosetracks before and it's in my top five.

  10. Oh. Nom.

I can't pin down a favorite. Last great one I tried though (and only a bite just for the record) was a S'more blizzard at DQ. Should be illegal it was so awesome. I love cherries so I've got to find this one to try, too!

    1. Oh, S'more blizzard sounds wonderful! I only recently had my first ever Blizzard-Butterfinger. It was good, but I should have gone with something different.

  11. LoLoLoL. I LOVE your reasoning, Barb!! It works for me! Thank you so much for the laugh this morning! It was just what I needed!! Really and truly.

My fave is mint chocolate chip. I just sit and savor every bite of it. It's like a mini vacation, and you know how much I love those!! =]

Thanks for the smiles this morning!! I'll still be smiling while I fold that mountain of laundry I'm supposed to be doing but sat to read one or two posts instead. ;-)
    Hugs!!

  12. My favorite USED TO BE Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla. After seeing these pictures, I may have to re-evaluate! This looks wickedly yummy :) Ice cream is considered taboo for me these days, but if I EVER make it to Stater Brothers, I'm jumping into temptation with both feet!
